In my buraeu we use Acrobat Pro 9 and OS X 10.6. Using the new "Print to Adobe PDF" command from the print panel we can produce PDFs that include hebrew, greek, and other languages (in unicode encoding). The version we use is NOT the Middle Eastern specific, but the U.S., sold by Adobe in the USA. In the same production environment we test CS 5.5, which includes Acrobat X. Whenever we try to print a document (from Apple Pages, Nisus Writer Pro, or other unicode aware apps that support right to left) with the "Print to Adobe PDF" command, the operation fails, during "Validating Input". If we remove any traces of Hebrew / Arabic, the document prints as expected (e.g. Greek, Phonetic Alphabets etc).
To sum up:
Although Acrobat Pro 9 supports printing documents with Hebrew, Acrobat Pro X does not. As you can understand it is a show-stopper. Is anyone else having the same problem? Could there be a problem with the trial?
Thanks in advance,
Peter
