Hi there
I work on a series of publications that we produce in quark. We receive artwork in both tiff and pdf format. When I receive pdf artwork, I was told by my previous designer (who has since left) that I should resave the pdf artwork as a tiff, 16bit and cmyk (to make sure it has been saved as cmyk colour to print).
Recently I have noticed on 2 pieces of artwork I have saved in thsi way that the fonts are changing when I open the pdf in Photoshop. When I view it in Adobe reader teh fonts appear fine, when opening it in Photoshop they ahev changed but I receive no warning of this, then when I open it in Adobe Acrobat Professional they they appear changed and I get the message "Cannot extract embedded font...... Some characters may not print of display correctly".
This has made me question whether I really need to resave the dpf's as tiff format at all, as I could be losing font information, but how else can I check they haev been saved in cmyk colour?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
